Guatemala

I am currently staying in Jocotango, Guatemala.
Outskirts of the old capital, Antigua.
It looks something like this:

Geographical Glimpse:

(Click for details)

Land of volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and bloody incursions from the barbaric the world-of-the-white-male. The society is in pain, as is the land. But at the same time, so many have deep wells of joy for anyone to tap. The problems of the world are true all over the world, the dominant difference between this place and the U.S. is that here, the government can´t reap the profits of its own country´s resources. Free trade agreements (ex. CAFTA) now ensure the economic control that U.S. instigated coups used to take care of. This country´s history has been both infuriorating and deeply saddening to learn. I´ll try and provide a basic sketch soon.

It is beautiful here. Oh my gord. (Yes...the vegetable.)

...

Our first half hour of Guatemala was spent in a half dazed stupor, trying to find an ATM in during a beautiful Guatemalan City sunrise.

The bus we spent 20 hours in.

Delivery McDonald´s motorbikes. Oh God. (Yes...the deity.)
